This is an original Japanese B2 poster issued in Japan for the first domestic theatrical release of Jaws (1975), Steven Spielberg’s era-defining suspense masterpiece—starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss, and widely credited with launching the modern summer blockbuster. Few film images are as universally recognisable as Jaws—a perfect collision of graphic simplicity and primal fear that has become a cornerstone of movie-poster history.

Poster design
One of the most iconic compositions ever printed: the vast, empty blue of the ocean split by a clean horizon line, a lone swimmer above, and the shark rising from the depths with jaws open—pure terror conveyed with minimal elements. The huge red JAWS title dominates the upper field, paired with the bold Japanese title 「ジョーズ」 beneath, creating a crisp, high-contrast typographic lock-up that frames the image like a warning sign. Condition
Very Good / Excellent overall. There is a tear that has been professionally stabilised with archival tape on the verso (see additional photos). Apart from this repair, the poster presents extremely well with strong colour and clean paper, and we have taken the condition into account when pricing.
