“Jetter Mars” (ジェッターマルス), Original Japanese TV Broadcast Promotional Poster 1977, A1 Size (59.4 × 84.1 cm) O174
This is an original large-format Japanese A1 poster printed in 1977 to promote the Fuji TV broadcast of Jetter Mars, an animated television series from Tezuka Productions with animation by Toei Dōga. Station/rights credits 「© 手塚プロ・フジテレビ・東映動画」 are printed along the lower border. Early broadcast shop/TV-station display pieces for Tezuka titles are highly collectible.
Film background
Conceived by Osamu Tezuka as a fresh, made-for-TV reimagining of the robot-boy hero, Jetter Mars (1977) follows a powerful child android built by rival scientists who debate whether his strength should serve peace or warfare. Airing on Fuji TV across 27 episodes, the show echoes the spirit of Astro Boy while developing its own cast, tone, and 1970s sci-fi aesthetic.
Poster design
A bold, futurist cityscape backdrop with Mars rocketing forward, fist raised, scarlet cape flaring—pure speed and optimism. Supporting characters appear behind in a flying car and sleek hover-bike, with the sun disk framing the hero’s face. The vivid red Japanese logotype 「ジェッターマルス」 sits across the sky, while a wide blank yellow panel along the bottom was left for local station/time-slot snipe—classic hallmarks of an authentic TV broadcast promotional sheet with superb wall presence.
