"Kagemusha" (影武者), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1980, Akira Kurosawa, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O414

Sale price $125.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1980 for Akira Kurosawa’s epic Kagemusha—starring Tatsuya Nakadai in a towering dual role. Supported internationally by Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas and released by 20th Century-Fox, the film shared the Palme d’Or at Cannes and signaled Kurosawa’s triumphant return to large-scale jidai-geki.

Design
A commanding dusk-red portrait of the warlord’s double fills the sheet, armor catching the sunset glow. The bold vertical title 「影武者」 slashes down the chest, while a band of mounted cavalry silhouettes charges across the horizon at the base. Vertical hype copy flanks the image—classic, powerful 1980 Toho key art.
