"Kill!", “Slashing Sword” (斬る), Original Release Japanese STB Tatekan Movie Poster 1968, STB Size (51 × 145 cm) O43

This is an original Japanese STB Tatekan (two-panel standing display) poster printed in 1968 for the first release of Slashing Sword (斬る), directed by Kihachi Okamoto and produced by Toho Studios. A hard-hitting jidaigeki period drama, the film stars Tatsuya Nakadai, supported by a cast including Shigeru Kōyama, Michiyo Aratama, and Eijirō Tōno.

Poster design
The sheet is dominated by the massive brushstroke red kanji 「斬る」 slashing vertically through the center, symbolizing violence and swordplay. Below, a fierce Tatsuya Nakadai brandishes his sword against a chaotic battlefield backdrop. Smaller inset portraits of supporting characters appear along the side, with Toho’s circular studio crest at the top margin. The elongated Tatekan format gives the design an imposing, theatrical presence, meant to capture attention outside cinemas.

Condition
