“King of New York” (キング・オブ・ニューヨーク), Original Japanese Theatrical Poster 1990, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O583

Sale price $300.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster from the 1990 Japanese release campaign for Abel Ferrara’s cult neo‑noir crime film King of New York (キング・オブ・ニューヨーク). Starring Christopher Walken as the newly‑released gangster Frank White (top‑billed here alongside “Larry” Fishburne / Laurence Fishburne, Victor Argo, David Caruso and Wesley Snipes), the film has earned enduring cult status for its gritty late‑night New York mood, brutal street politics, and Ferrara’s stylised, uncompromising approach to the gangster genre.

Poster design
A commanding, shadow‑lit close‑up of Christopher Walken dominates the sheet, his expression hovering between calm control and menace. Below, a rain‑slick, traffic‑choked New York nightscape sets the tone, while inset vignette photography at right adds a dangerous glamour to Frank White’s world. The huge, blocky “KING of NEW YORK” title screams across the lower third in vivid red, paired with the Japanese title “キングオブニューヨーク” beneath. At upper right, the vertical copy is headed by “優雅なる狂気” (“elegant madness”), a perfect tagline for this sleek, violent cult classic—bold, cinematic, and extremely display‑friendly when framed.

Condition
Excellent. The colours are rich and the imagery presents extremely well. Please review the photos; they show the exact poster for sale.
