“La Nuit la Plus Longue” (続 絶叫), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1968 (film 1965), B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P160

Sale price $200.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the first Japanese release of La Nuit la Plus Longue (続 絶叫), written and directed by José Bénazéraf. The film was produced in 1965 and released theatrically in Japan on 14 December 1968.

Film background
A cult, boundary-pushing slice of mid-1960s French crime cinema: a young woman is abducted and held in an isolated setting as the captors’ tensions and obsessions spiral into a claustrophobic, psychologically charged ordeal—violence, desire, and paranoia tightening the noose. The film is also notable for its Chet Baker score and stark black-and-white cinematography by Alain Derobe—a highly unusual and instantly “of its era” combination.

Poster design
A striking, hard-edged Japanese design built around a central monochrome image of threat and struggle, punctuated with small colour portrait panels and bold vertical copy. The huge brush-style title 続 絶叫 (“Sequel: Scream”) anchors the lower section with maximum impact, while the overall layout leans into the film’s “continental” exploitation-noir mood—graphic, confrontational, and extremely displayable.
