Directed by Jean-Pierre Melville he has perfectly mixed American style noir and French pop culture - a big influence on French New Wave film movement.
Le Samourai was Melville’s biggest success and left an imprint in the styles of many future directors such as William Friedkin, John Woo, Michael Mann, Quentin Tarantino and Johnny Tand many more.
