This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the 2001 release of Luxurious Bone / 「贅沢な骨」, Isao Yukisada’s atmospheric psychological drama starring Kumiko Aso, Tsugumi, and Masatoshi Nagase.
The film is an intimate study of loneliness, emotional dependence, and unstable desire, centred on three people whose lives become entangled within contemporary urban Japan.
Film background
The story follows Miyako, a young woman working as a call girl, and her enigmatic roommate Sakura, who helps manage her appointments.
The two share a close but fragile domestic existence, isolated from the wider world and dependent upon one another in ways neither fully understands.
Their relationship shifts when Shinji, one of Miyako’s clients, enters their lives. His presence creates a complex emotional triangle shaped by attraction, jealousy, vulnerability, and the characters’ inability to form secure connections.
The film was directed by Isao Yukisada, who also contributed to the screenplay. It is an early example of the quiet visual style and close attention to emotional relationships that would define his later work.
