"My Neighbor Totoro", Original Japanese Promotional Poster 1988, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) N78

This is an original Japanese B2 poster issued in 1988 to promote My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ, Tonari no Totoro). This particular design was created as a soundtrack tie-in piece for the My Neighbor Totoro Soundtrack Collection.

Film background
Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli, My Neighbor Totoro (1988) follows sisters Satsuki and Mei as they befriend forest spirits in rural Japan. Now one of Ghibli’s most beloved films, it helped define the studio’s international reputation.

Poster design
A serene night scene shows Mei and Satsuki playing ocarinas while the small blue and white Totoros perch nearby—the gentle, dreamlike moment that captures the film’s heart. The green title logo appears at upper left. Along the lower margin is the production imprint noting the soundtrack campaign—classic late-’80s Ghibli/Tokuma styling that displays beautifully.
