“The Concert for Bangladesh” (バングラデシュのコンサート), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1972, 20th Century Fox First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O164
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1972 for the first domestic theatrical release of The Concert for Bangladesh (バングラデシュのコンサート), produced by George Harrison and Apple Corps and distributed in Japan by 20th Century Fox. First-issue Japanese posters for this landmark charity concert film—featuring George Harrison, Ravi Shankar, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Leon Russell, Billy Preston, Klaus Voormann, Badfinger, Jim Keltner, and more—are highly collectible.
Film background
Shot at Madison Square Garden in August 1971, the film documents the first major rock benefit concert, organized by Harrison and Shankar to raise relief funds for refugees from the Bangladesh Liberation War. It captures historic performances (including Dylan’s surprise set) and helped set the template for large-scale musical philanthropy.
Poster design
A vibrant country sheet: an orange duotone collage of performers (Harrison, Dylan, Shankar, Ringo and others) frames a central black field with the event title THE CONCERT FOR BANGLADESH over a live performance still. The bold sky-blue Japanese logotype 「バングラデシュのコンサート」 tears across the cream lower band above credits, with the 20th Century Fox logo and Eirin mark along the footer—classic hallmarks of an authentic first-release sheet with striking wall presence.
