“One Piece: Dead End Adventure” / 「ワンピース THE MOVIE デッドエンドの冒険」, Original Japanese Movie Poster 2003, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) F266,7
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 2003 for the first release of One Piece: Dead End Adventure / 「ワンピース THE MOVIE デッドエンドの冒険」, the fourth theatrical feature in the One Piece franchise.
A vibrant and highly energetic early-2000s anime poster, this design captures the scale, humour, and adventure that defined the early theatrical run of Eiichiro Oda’s world-famous pirate saga.
Film background
Released by Toei Animation in March 2003, Dead End Adventure follows Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates as they enter the dangerous Dead End Race, a lawless pirate competition where crews battle for survival and treasure on the open sea.
The film features original movie characters including the formidable former Marine-turned-pirate Gasparde and the bounty hunter Shuraiya, while the theme song “sailing day” by BUMP OF CHICKEN became closely associated with the film’s Japanese release.
Poster design
The poster is a bold, character-packed composition. Luffy dominates the foreground with a wide, determined grin, leaning forward as if charging directly toward the viewer. Around him are the early Straw Hat crew, including Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper, with the film’s villains and competing pirate ships filling the upper background.
The large vertical text on the right reads:
「メシより冒険。」
“Adventure over food.”
The left-side tagline heightens the stakes of the Dead End Race:
「生き残れるか!? 大海賊が競う史上最悪のレース!!」
“Can they survive!? The worst race in history, contested by great pirates!!”
The lower section is anchored by the large gold ONE PIECE logo and the red subtitle 「デッドエンドの冒険」, giving the design strong theatrical impact.
