"Kantō Onna Tobakushi" (1968) – Original Japanese STB Poster
関東女賭博師 | Toei Studios | Starring Kyōko Enami | Directed by Yoshio Inoue

A striking STB-size (tatekan) original Japanese poster for Kantō Onna Tobakushi (関東女賭博師), a defining title in Toei’s legendary “Woman Gambler” (Onna Tobakushi) series. Released in 1968, this film cements Kyōko Enami's status as the genre’s most iconic leading lady — sharp-witted, fearless, and dressed to kill in a stunning blue kimono adorned with an embroidered dragon.

The poster radiates cool intensity: Enami kneels with poised confidence, dice in one hand and sword in the other, dominating a tense gambling hall watched closely by an ensemble of hardened men. The vertical layout heightens the drama, capturing both the elegance and menace that defined Toei’s female yakuza era.

Directed by Yoshio Inoue and shot by Yoshio Nakagawa, the film delivers high-stakes drama and classic gambler tension with a female lead who turns the rules of the underworld upside down.

A spectacular addition for collectors of ninkyo eiga, female-led Japanese action cinema, or fans of Kyōko Enami’s fierce legacy. This large-format poster is not just visually bold — it’s a piece of Japanese pulp cinema history.

It is over 59 years old!
