"Paul McCartney World Tour in Japan", Original Concert Poster 1990, B1 Size (c. 71 × 103 cm)
This is an original Japanese promotional poster printed in early 1990 for the Tokyo Dome leg of The Paul McCartney World Tour (supported by TDK).
Sir Paul’s 1989‑1990 world tour was his first major outing since Wings Over the World (1975‑76) and his first ever as a solo artist in Japan. The six‑night Tokyo run—3, 5, 7, 9, 11 & 13 March 1990—saw McCartney perform Beatles classics alongside solo hits to sold‑out crowds, cementing his enduring popularity in the country.
Poster design
A dynamic, full‑bleed photograph captures McCartney mid‑strum on a black Gibson acoustic, eyebrow raised in trademark show‑time surprise. The cream central panel is framed by vivid abstract blocks of orange, red, green and blue (echoing the tour’s stage graphics), with a bold vertical blue sidebar reading “THE PAUL McCARTNEY WORLD TOUR”. Concert dates, venue (“東京ドーム” – Tokyo Dome) and ticket prices (S ¥7,000 / A ¥5,000) are printed in eye‑popping red‑and‑green 3‑D text. Sponsor and promoter credits line the foot.
