“Pink Flamingos — 25th Anniversary Special Edition” (ピンク・フラミンゴ〈特別篇〉), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1997 Re-Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O113

Sale price $120.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1997 for the 25th-anniversary re-release of Pink Flamingos (ピンク・フラミンゴ〈特別篇〉), directed by John Waters. Reissue Japanese posters for Waters’ notorious midnight-movie cult classic—starring Divine, Mink Stole, David Lochary, and Mary Vivian Pearce—are highly collectible.

Film background
Waters’ transgressive “exercise in poor taste” follows arch-rivals vying for the title of “Filthiest Person Alive,” fusing camp, shock humor, and underground aesthetics. Initially a midnight phenomenon, the film became a touchstone of queer cinema and American counterculture; this 25th-anniversary edition reintroduced the legend to new audiences.

Poster design
A witty gallery-show spoof: an ornate gilt frame encloses a saturated sky-and-desert tableau with Divine in a blazing red gown, pistol aimed at viewer. A gold ribbon badge at the upper left reads “25th ANNIVERSARY” with a pink flamingo emblem. The lilac gradient logotype Pink Flamingos slants across the image; the Japanese title line and a circular John Waters inset sit above the credits band. The R-18 rating plaque and Eirin seal are printed along the lower edge—classic hallmarks of an authentic Japanese re-release sheet with bold wall presence.
