This is an original, officially licensed Japanese B2 poster produced in 1999 for Pocket Monsters (ポケットモンスター / Pokémon). This is not a movie poster—it is a Banpresto character poster, clearly marked 非売品 (not for sale). The sheet carries BANPRESTO branding, LOT NO. 990305, and the printed credit “BANPRESTO 1999 MADE IN JAPAN.” The “No.1” mark identifies it as a numbered variant within this character-poster series.
Franchise background
By 1999, Pokémon had expanded from its original Game Boy releases into television, films and a wide range of licensed merchandise. This poster celebrates the familiar Pokémon of the original generation, capturing the sense of adventure and companionship that made the series so memorable.
Poster design
A beautiful landscape composition featuring Charizard, Pikachu, Squirtle and Bulbasaur gathered on a rocky cliff overlooking a dramatic sunset. Moltres, the legendary Fire-type Pokémon, flies across the glowing sky at the upper left, its flaming wings echoing the rich orange and red clouds. Charizard towers over the group, with one enormous wing sweeping across the upper-right corner, while the smaller Pokémon rest along the cliff edge. The distant mountains, low sun and expansive sky give the artwork a cinematic sense of scale. With branding confined to the corners, the illustration takes centre stage, making this an especially attractive original-generation Pokémon display piece.
