An original Japanese B2 Pokémon collectible poster, produced by Banpresto circa 1998. Featuring Pikachu and Mewtwo, this landscape design belongs to the Banpre Chara Poster Part 5 assortment and carries the printed number 03.
The artwork captures the dramatic appeal of early Pokémon through a confrontation between two of its most recognisable characters. Its expansive horizontal composition gives the opposing figures considerable presence, with the illustration extending across almost the entire sheet.
On the left, Mewtwo adopts a defensive stance with raised hands, bent knees, and its long purple tail curling outward. A luminous violet outline separates its pale body from the surrounding deep blue background.
Pikachu dominates the right side, suspended against a brilliant burst of pale yellow and white light. Its black-tipped ears, red cheek, and oversized lightning-shaped tail create a strong contrast with Mewtwo’s cooler colouring. The tail sweeps across the lower foreground, adding depth and movement.
Radiating blue streaks and jagged flashes of electricity connect the two sides of the composition. The concentrated palette of yellow, blue, purple, and white gives the image an immediate visual impact.
The green Japanese Pocket Monsters logo appears at the lower right, accompanied by Banpresto branding, the series number, and copyright information. The printed 非売品 designation identifies the poster as an item not intended for ordinary retail sale.
