This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the first Japanese cinema release of Police Academy 3: Back in Training (ポリスアカデミー3／全員再訓練！), the third instalment in the hugely popular Police Academy comedy series. The film was produced in 1986 and opened theatrically in Japan on 19 July 1986, distributed domestically by Warner Bros.
Directed by Jerry Paris, the film reunites Steve Guttenberg, Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow, David Graf, Marion Ramsey, Leslie Easterbrook and George Gaynes. When budget cuts threaten to close one of the state’s two police academies, Commandant Lassard recalls his notoriously unconventional graduates to act as instructors and save their alma mater, setting up another round of increasingly chaotic training and competition.
Poster design
A superb illustrated Japanese design centred on the familiar Police Academy ensemble crowding around an enormous black shooting-range silhouette target, riddled with comic bullet holes. Mahoney, Hightower, Tackleberry, Jones, Hooks, Callahan, Lassard and the wider cast appear in a wonderfully frantic arrangement of uniforms, weapons, ammunition belts and exaggerated expressions.
Across the top, the huge red command 「避難せよ！」 translates as “Take cover!” / “Evacuate!”, immediately setting the deliberately chaotic tone. The central Japanese copy announces that the familiar gang has returned to save the academy, only to be met with another barrage of outrageous comedy.
The enormous red, blue and white ポリスアカデミー3 title dominates the lower section, with the subtitle 全員再訓練！ — “Everyone Back in Training!” beneath it. The clean cream background, colourful dotted border and densely illustrated ensemble make this an exceptionally strong example of mid-1980s Japanese Hollywood comedy advertising.

Condition
Excellent. The poster retains superb colour saturation, with the bright reds, blues, cream background and detailed character artwork remaining exceptionally fresh. There are only very minor signs of age and handling, with no significant condition issues affecting the central artwork or typography. Please review the photos—they show the exact poster for sale.
