“Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown” (がんばれ!スヌーピー), Original Japanese B2 Movie Poster 1977, B2 Size (c. 51 × 73 cm) ZA503
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the 1977 Peanuts feature Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown, released in Japan as Ganbare! Snoopy. The film was the third animated Peanuts movie and follows the gang at a summer camp wilderness race.
Film background
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock and the rest of the Peanuts kids head to camp, where they face bullies, mishaps and a white‑water river race that tests their courage and teamwork. True to Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip, the film balances slapstick adventure with gentle humour and child‑sized anxieties, all underscored by a jazzy score.
Poster design
The Japanese B2 is a delightfully busy composition. On the left, Snoopy dangles comically from a large blue ring with Woodstock perched above, while a vertical line of blue text encourages viewers to cheer them on. The central circular frame depicts Snoopy sailing a small boat with Charlie Brown and friends water‑skiing behind, echoing the film’s big race sequence. Around this are small vignette bubbles of winter scenes, school competitions and camp antics. Charlie Brown roars across the foreground on a motorcycle, helmeted and determined, with more kids crammed into a sidecar. The pink title “がんばれ!スヌーピー” runs down the right in bold, playful lettering.
