“Red Sun” (レッド・サン), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1972 (film 1971), B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O846

Sale price $120.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1972 for the first Japanese release of Red Sun (レッド・サン), the East-meets-West action-adventure directed by Terence Young and starring Toshirō Mifune, Alain Delon, and Charles Bronson, with Ursula Andress co-starring.

A truly unique international production, Red Sun blends samurai honour with a western outlaw chase—built around a stolen Japanese ceremonial sword and the uneasy alliance between a samurai and an outlaw across the frontier. It’s one of the most iconic cross-cultural genre films of the era, and an essential title for Mifune collectors.

Poster design
An exceptionally elegant, minimalist Japanese design dominated by a stark monochrome portrait of Toshirō Mifune in kimono, gripping his sword, with his kamon visible on the chest. The lower-right block carries the red brush-stroke RED SUN logo and compact billing for the international cast—creating a refined, gallery-ready composition with immense presence once framed.

It is over 53 years old!
