This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the first Japanese release of Rocky III / 「ロッキー3」, Sylvester Stallone’s enormously successful 1982 sports drama.
Written, directed by, and starring Stallone, the third chapter follows Rocky Balboa as fame and complacency leave him unprepared for the most aggressive challenger of his career.
Film background
Rocky has become the reigning world heavyweight champion, successfully defending his title while enjoying wealth, celebrity, and domestic happiness with Adrian.
His comfortable position is challenged by Clubber Lang, an undefeated and ferocious contender whose hunger sharply contrasts with Rocky’s increasingly promotional career.
After suffering a devastating defeat and losing his trainer Mickey Goldmill, Rocky’s confidence collapses. His former rival Apollo Creed offers to retrain him, introducing a faster and more instinctive fighting style designed to restore the determination that originally made him a champion.

Translated:
