This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1982 for the Japanese release of Salem’s Lot (死霊伝説), the Stephen King vampire adaptation directed by Tobe Hooper and starring David Soul and James Mason.
Poster design
A striking, minimalist horror concept rendered in bold colour blocks: a pale full moon hangs in a smoky blue night sky, while the upper field is dominated by blood‑red silhouettes that read like looming vampiric forms closing in from both sides. The massive Japanese title 「死霊伝説」 crashes across the centre in thick, off‑white lettering with purple shadowing, with SALEM’S LOT set beneath in distressed blue type. Along the bottom, character portraits and a cold, isolated house ground the supernatural threat in small‑town dread. Clean, graphic, and instantly recognisable—an excellent example of early‑’80s Japanese horror poster design.
