An original Japanese B2 television promotional poster for Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, produced by Tatsunoko Production. The series began broadcasting in Japan in October 1972, and this design prominently advertises its Sunday evening 6:00–6:30 broadcast on Fuji Television, alongside regional station information.

Following five young heroes in their struggle against the organisation Galactor, Gatchaman combined science-fiction adventure, distinctive mechanical designs, and dramatic storytelling. It became one of Tatsunoko’s defining productions and subsequently reached international audiences through adaptations including Battle of the Planets.

The illustration centres on Ken the Eagle, whose commanding pose and sweeping bird-shaped cape fill almost the entire sheet. His white costume, blue gloves and boots, red chest emblem, and gold belt buckle stand out against the richly coloured background. The cape’s deep red lining adds a particularly dramatic contrast to its bright white exterior.

The team’s aircraft, the God Phoenix, cuts across the lower left in blue and red. Broad diagonal streaks of pink, orange, and dark green reinforce the sense of movement, while Ken’s cape curves around the aircraft and across the foreground.

Enormous yellow ガッチャマン lettering dominates the upper section, accompanied by the pink 科学忍者隊 heading. The white promotional slogan reads “Protect the Earth! Defeat Galactor!”, connecting the heroic imagery directly with the programme’s central conflict.

The lower panel retains the broadcast schedule and a detailed list of regional stations. An orange-bordered rectangular panel remains blank at the lower right, while smaller printed credits identify Tatsunoko Production, the Columbia theme-song record, and the series’ appearance in Shogakukan’s educational magazines.

A striking piece for collectors of Gatchaman, Tatsunoko animation, classic Japanese television, and 1970s anime design.

Condition: Excellent. Light horizontal creasing, minor handling wear, and gentle surface rippling are visible. The reverse remains generally clean, and the vivid yellow, pink, orange, and blue printing gives the poster excellent overall display appeal.
