“Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie” (スペースアドベンチャー コブラ), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1982, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA936
This is an original Japanese B2 movie poster printed in 1982 for the first theatrical release of Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie (スペースアドベンチャー コブラ), a Japan animated science-fiction feature produced by TMS Entertainment, based on Buichi Terasawa’s manga, directed by Osamu Dezaki, starring (voice) Nachi Nozawa as Cobra and Toshiko Fujita as Lady Armaroid.
Film background
Released in 1982, Space Adventure Cobra is a quintessential early-’80s space-opera anime—flashy, stylish, and unapologetically pulp. Cobra is the cosmic outlaw with a cybernetic “Psychogun” built into his arm, drifting through a universe of pirates, secret treasures, and lethal conspiracies. The film distills the manga’s swagger into a feature-length spectacle, and has remained a cult favourite for its retro-futurist design and Dezaki’s distinctive visual flair.
Poster design
A stunning, high-impact B2 dominated by bold illustration and colour. Cobra stands centre in vivid red, raising his weapon toward a massive, biomechanical alien form looming overhead—rendered in metallic blues and greys like a cosmic titan. Below, a reclining blonde heroine with flowing hair fills the lower field, her golden strands transforming into flame-like ribbons that frame the scene and amplify the erotic, pulp-sci-fi tone. The SPACE ADVENTURE コブラ logo sits at top right with the classic early-’80s gradient styling, completing a poster that feels like a pure anime space-fantasy cover—brilliantly displayable.
