“Space Sheriff Trilogy: Gavan, Sharivan & Shaider” (宇宙刑事三部作), Original Japanese DVD Promotional Poster 2002, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) — T214

This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster produced in 2002 for the DVD release campaign of Toei’s Space Sheriff trilogy: Gavan, Sharivan and Shaider. The release schedule in the upper-left corner promotes a programme extending from October 2002 into March 2003, bringing these celebrated television heroes to home video.

Series background
Beginning with Space Sheriff Gavan in 1982, followed by Sharivan in 1983 and Shaider in 1984, the trilogy established the foundations of Toei’s Metal Hero series. Combining martial-arts action, elaborate transformations, alien adversaries and gleaming armoured costumes, the programmes became distinctive examples of Japanese tokusatsu—live-action entertainment built around special effects.

This poster brings all three heroes together, celebrating their shared identity while emphasising the individual colours and armour designs that distinguish them.

Poster design
A dramatic composition places silver-armoured Gavan in the foreground, with red Sharivan behind him and blue Shaider towering above. Their dynamic poses and highly reflective metallic surfaces create an almost sculptural effect, with intricate joints, coloured panels and polished helmets standing out against the dark background.

Streaks of blue-white lightning surround the figures, reinforcing the energy of their transformations. The promotional information is concentrated in the upper-left corner, while a vertical Japanese tagline runs down the right edge, leaving most of the sheet devoted to the striking character artwork. A powerful display piece for collectors of Space Sheriff, Metal Hero and Japanese superhero television.
