"The Story of Star Wars (Japanese Version) – Noriyoshi Ohrai Artwork", Original Japanese Promotional Poster 1977, B2 Size (51 x 73 cm) N127

Sale price $650.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1977 to promote King Records’ “THE STORY OF STAR WARS – Japanese Version” soundtrack (see the bottom credit line with ©1977 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation, FML-96 / KING RECORDS).

This poster was printed in FAR fewer quantities than its theatrical release counterpart - a first for our gallery and ultra rare!

Artwork is by the legendary Noriyoshi Ohrai (later famed for his Empire Strikes Back poster). The dramatic composition features heroic Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in the foreground, Darth Vader’s vast visage and the Death Star looming behind, a formation of X-wings streaking across the stars, and C-3PO with R2-D2 at lower left.

As a retail advertising item for record shops, this poster was printed in limited quantities and was never reissued, making it an uncommon display piece for Star Wars and Ohrai collectors.

It is over 47 years old!

This poster is in excellent condition. Please refer to the imagery (both front and back) as this is the exact poster that is for sale.

It is not a reproduction or a reprint.

Certificate of Authenticity included.
