Why this poster matters

The ultra‑scarce undated teaser for Revenge of the Jedi—the early title of Return of the Jedi. This first‑issue advance was sent to theaters before Fox announced the release date, so it does not carry the later “Coming May 25, 1983” line along the bottom. Printed in far smaller numbers than the later dated style and immediately superseded when the title changed, this is among the most coveted Star Wars one‑sheets.

This piece was bought through an inter‑store national B2B “ichiba” auction held by the Union of Second‑Hand Booksellers in Japan.
