“STREET FIGHTER II TURBO” (ストリートファイターII ターボ), Original Japanese CAPCOM Super Famicom Promotional Poster 1993, Extremely Rare, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O456A
This is an original Japanese B2 store-use promotional poster printed in 1993 for Capcom’s Super Famicom release of Street Fighter II Turbo (ストリートファイターII ターボ). Issued for retail display (店頭用/販促用) and not sold to the public (非売品), these shop posters were produced in far smaller quantities than theatrical one-sheets and were typically discarded after campaigns—making surviving examples genuinely scarce.
Film background
Released for Super Famicom in 1993, Street Fighter II Turbo represents the peak early-’90s console moment of Capcom’s genre-defining arcade phenomenon—bringing speed, intensity, and competitive play into the home at a time when Japanese game culture was exploding globally. For collectors, this poster sits at the intersection of Capcom, Super Famicom-era design, and the Street Fighter II legacy that shaped fighting games for decades.
Poster design
A brilliant piece of minimalist Japanese game marketing: an expansive white field crowned by the headline “VEGA ENTERS THE BATTLE.” in towering metallic-gold type. At centre stands the final boss—Vega in Japan (M. Bison internationally)—rendered in deep crimson with arms folded, cap and cape sweeping into dramatic shadow with a purple undertone. The Street Fighter II Turbo logo burns at lower right, with the Japanese line 「どこまで強くなるのか。」 (“How strong will it become?”). Capcom branding and Super Famicom licensing sit at the top edge, anchoring it unmistakably as an official 1993 retail campaign sheet. The result is stark, iconic, and exceptionally displayable—more like a fashion poster than a typical game advertisement.
