“Taxi 4” / 「TAXi④」, Original Japanese Movie Poster 2007, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) U41

Sale price $115.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the 2007 Japanese release of Taxi 4 / 「TAXi④」, directed by Gérard Krawczyk and written and produced by Luc Besson. The film opened in Japan on 25 August 2007.

The fourth instalment in the French action-comedy series reunites its familiar partnership of a fearless taxi driver and an accident-prone police inspector, taking their adventures from Marseille to Monaco.

The Japanese poster concentrates on the film’s principal attraction: Daniel’s modified white Peugeot seemingly flying above the Mediterranean coastline.

Film background

The story returns to Daniel, Marseille’s exceptionally gifted taxi driver, and Émilien, the well-meaning police inspector whose professional ambitions repeatedly collide with his clumsiness.

Both men are now fathers, but their domestic routines are interrupted when the Marseille police receive a particularly dangerous assignment: guarding a notorious international criminal nicknamed “the Belgian monster.”

Despite elaborate precautions, the prisoner escapes with help from his accomplices and Émilien’s mistakes. Determined to recover the fugitive and restore his reputation, Émilien turns to Daniel for assistance. Their pursuit takes them beyond Marseille and into Monaco.

Daniel’s distinctive white taxi is now a Peugeot 407, bringing a new vehicle to the series’ combination of motoring spectacle, police farce, and extravagant action.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Gibert’s overconfidence adds further confusion, while Émilien’s wife Petra undertakes an undercover operation within the criminal gang.

The film was directed by Gérard Krawczyk, from a screenplay by Luc Besson, who also served as producer.

The principal cast includes:

Samy Naceri
Frédéric Diefenthal
Bernard Farcy
Emma Sjöberg / Emma Wiklund
Jean-Luc Couchard
Jean-Christophe Bouvet

Poster design

This striking Japanese poster uses an extreme low-angle perspective to create an immediate sensation of speed, height, and impending freefall.

Daniel’s white Peugeot dominates the composition. Viewed from behind and below, the vehicle appears suspended above a steep coastal road, exposing its wheels and underside.

The oversized rear spoiler, twin exhausts, Peugeot emblem, and 407 badge emphasise the car’s identity and performance modifications. Sweeping streaks of colour behind the bodywork heighten the impression of acceleration.

Below the airborne vehicle, Monaco’s tightly packed buildings, harbours, and coastline stretch towards the brilliant blue Mediterranean. The tilted horizon and sharply descending road exaggerate the apparent height of the jump.

Palm fronds enter from the upper right, while bright sunlight and lens flare give the image a distinctly Riviera atmosphere. Cool blues and turquoise contrast with the warm road surface and gold title lettering.

The bold yellow headline across the top reads:

「モナコへ爆走ダイブ!敵は国際指名手配犯!!」

Translated:

“A high-speed dive into Monaco! The enemy is an internationally wanted criminal!”

The enormous title:

“TAXi 4”

occupies the lower section. The word “TAXi” appears in metallic gold lettering, with a large silver 4 enclosed within a circular emblem. Strong perspective makes the lettering appear to sit directly on the road beneath the flying car.

The prominent production credit below reads:

「製作・脚本:リュック・ベッソン」

Translated:

“Produced and written by Luc Besson.”

The lower right carries the bold yellow release announcement:

“8.25 ROADSHOW”

The bottom margin contains the cast and production credits, Japanese distribution information for Asmik Ace, and the original campaign website address.

The result is an energetic piece of Japanese action-film advertising, bringing together the franchise’s signature white taxi, coastal setting, and exaggerated sense of speed.

Condition

Very Good+ condition. The poster retains vivid colour, clear photographic detail, and strong overall display impact.

There are two visible horizontal folds, with light wear along the fold lines. Please examine the front and reverse photographs for the full condition.

Despite these signs of handling, the central image remains highly effective, and the poster will display very well once framed.
