"Tentacles", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1977, Rare, B0 Size (c. 104cm x 150cm)

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1977 for the first release of Tentacles (テンタクルズ).

In the rare B0 billboard size (横型B0) — a true wall-dominating showpiece.

We found this in a warehouse in Mie Prefecture. The poster is made up of two B1 sheets each is c. 104 cm x 75 cm. Therefore together the poster is almost 1.5m wide and once framed it will make an imposing display item with beautiful artwork!

A beautifully illustrated Japanese release poster for Tentacles, the cult 1977 sea-monster horror inspired by the Jaws phenomenon. Featuring a massive octopus attacking swimmers, the poster’s hand-painted drama and oversized title make it a quintessential example of ’70s pulp-horror marketing in Japan. Distributed by Nihon Herald (日本ヘラルド映画) and packed with explosive taglines, this is a must-have for fans of vintage creature features and Japanese poster art.

The film is an Italian sea-horror directed by Ovidio G. Assonitis (credited as Oliver Hellman), starring John Huston, Shelley Winters, Bo Hopkins, and Henry Fonda. Japanese release by Nihon Herald Films; sheet carries the Eirin number 52063 and the promotional “Tremble Sound” logo.

It is over 48 years old!
