This is an original Japanese A2 exhibition poster printed in 1983 to promote Eiko Ishioka’s landmark book and show EIKO by EIKO: Japan’s Ultimate Designer (published by Callaway, New York, and Kyuryudo, Tokyo). The striking design frames the iconic portrait of Ishioka with two girls in vermilion dresses, with bold gold kanji characters and the PARCO vertical mark inside the image. Direct provenance: this example comes straight from the personal archives of the Callaway family, the publishers who produced the book and sponsored the New York exhibition campaign. These posters were never commercially distributed, making surviving A2 copies exceptionally scarce.
