Film background
Rex Harrison plays Cecil Fox, an eccentric millionaire in Venice who stages an elaborate charade by summoning three former lovers to his palazzo under false pretences of impending death and inheritance. As jealousies flare and a real murder intrudes on the game, the film blends romantic intrigue, drawing‑room wit and whodunnit plotting against the atmospheric backdrop of Piazza San Marco and Venetian canals.
