“The Incredibles” (Mr.インクレディブル), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 2004, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) T238

This is an original Japanese B2 poster produced for the first theatrical release of The Incredibles in 2004. Written and directed by Brad Bird and produced by Pixar Animation Studios, the film opened in Japan on 4 December 2004 under the title Mr.インクレディブル — Mr. Incredible. This colourful ensemble design introduces the entire superhero family to Japanese audiences.

Film background
Forced to abandon their superhero careers, Bob and Helen Parr live quietly in suburbia with their three children. Bob longs for his former life as Mr. Incredible, and a mysterious assignment offers him the chance to return to action. When that opportunity becomes a dangerous trap, the family must combine their extraordinary abilities to survive.

Blending superhero adventure, spy-film styling and domestic comedy, The Incredibles explores the challenge of fitting in while embracing the qualities that make each family member different.

Poster design
A bold composition in red, orange and yellow, built around an enormous Incredibles emblem. Mr. Incredible charges towards the viewer at the centre, his oversized black-gloved fist thrust forward.

At the upper left, Violet appears within a shimmering purple force field, while Dash races across the lower left with blurred limbs suggesting his superhuman speed. On the right, Elastigirl stretches one arm upwards while holding a smiling Jack-Jack.

Small yellow Japanese name labels identify each family member. Across the top, large white lettering connects the film with the team behind Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo. The distinctive white Mr.インクレディブル title fills the lower section, above a black-and-yellow banner announcing the 4 December Japanese opening.

The expressive characters and saturated colours give this original Japanese release poster tremendous display appeal.
