"The Invisible Swordsman (透明剣士)", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1960, STB Size (51 × 145 cm) N208

Sale price $125.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1960 for the first release of The Invisible Swordsman (透明剣士).

This almost 5′ tall STB poster features striking artwork, with a bold green composition showcasing the ghostly outline of the swordsman and dynamic action scenes below. The tatekan STB format had much lower print runs compared to regular Japanese B2s, making them very rare, particularly for period jidaigeki (samurai) films. Collectors value these highly due to their scarcity and dramatic visual impact.

Directed by Yoshiyuki Kuroda, The Invisible Swordsman is a fantasy-infused chambara film that blends traditional samurai action with supernatural spectacle. It tells the story of a warrior who gains the power of invisibility, unleashing both opportunity and peril as he takes on rival factions. With stylized action and an unusual premise, it stands out within the wave of 1960s Japanese swordplay cinema.
