This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1968 for the first Japanese release of Disney’s animated classic The Jungle Book (ジャングル・ブック). The film opened theatrically in Japan on 6 August 1968.

Directed by Wolfgang Reitherman and based on Rudyard Kipling’s stories, The Jungle Book follows Mowgli’s journey through the jungle as Bagheera attempts to guide him to the human village before Shere Khan returns—along the way meeting Baloo, King Louie, Kaa, and a host of unforgettable characters.

Poster design
A gorgeous, illustration-led Japanese campaign design celebrating Disney’s characters at their most playful: a winding “story trail” of scenes and character vignettes runs across the top, while Mowgli and Baloo dance front and centre above the large leaf-built title ジャングル・ブック. The sheet is clearly marked 日本語版 / テクニカラー and also promotes it as a “30th anniversary commemorative work” for Disney’s feature-length colour animated films (as printed on the poster). A superb, highly displayable 1960s Disney Japanese B2.

It has a very fine hairline cut which has been repaired with archival tape on the verso. It is very hard to notice from the front. Apart from this, the poster is in excellent condition and once framed it will display excellently.
