This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1967 (almost 55years ago!) for the first release of The Jungle Book. Considering its age, it is in a fantastic condition.
This poster for sale is the top half of a two-panel STB Tatekan Poster.
This poster was acquired by Japan Poster Shop, along with many other rare 1950-1970`s posters (all in excellent to near mint condition), from a Japanese supplier near Osaka. The posters were previously carefully stored in a warehouse belonging to an entrepreneur who used to own a cinema until the 1980`s (when it went bankrupt due to the rise in VHS video).
Everyone loves ‘ The Jungle Book’. The Jungle Book - Disney animation inspired by Rudyard Kiplings "Mowgli" story. Mowgli is a boy who has been raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. When the wolves hear that the fierce tiger, Shere Kahn, is nearby, they decide to send Mowgli to a local "man tribe". On his way to the village, Mowgli meets many animal characters in this musical tale. When Shere Kahn learns of Mowgli's presence, he tracks him down. This poster is from the film's first release.
