“The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask” / 「ゼルダの伝説 ムジュラの仮面」, Ultra-Rare Original Japanese Retail Shop Poster 2000, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O41B Near Mint

Sale price $1,150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 retail shop / in-store promotional poster produced by Nintendo in 2000 for the Japanese Nintendo 64 release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask / 「ゼルダの伝説 ムジュラの仮面」.

This is an authentic retailer-only promotional poster, not a consumer insert or later commercial print. It was created to advertise the Japanese launch of the game in shops, with the release date printed at the bottom: 「4月27日(木)発売」“On sale Thursday, April 27.”

Game background
Released in Japan in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, Majora’s Mask is the darker, more surreal sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Set in the doomed world of Termina, the game follows Link through a repeating three-day cycle as he attempts to prevent the moon from crashing into the earth.

It has since become one of the most distinctive and collectible entries in the Zelda series, admired for its eerie atmosphere, time-loop structure, mask mechanics, and unusually melancholic tone.

Poster design
The design is one of the most atmospheric Nintendo promotional images of the era. Against a deep blue night sky, Skull Kid appears as a black silhouette dancing before an enormous yellow moon, while Link, outlined in red, moves through the shadowed landscape of Termina with his fairy companion.

The vertical Japanese copy reads:

「こんどのゼルダは こわさがある。」
“This time, Zelda has fear.” / “This Zelda is scary.”

The centre features the magenta THE LEGEND OF ZELDA logo, with the Japanese title 「ゼルダの伝説 ムジュラの仮面」 printed below. The top corners carry the Nintendo and Nintendo 64 logos, while the bottom text includes the launch date and the important hardware notice that the game requires the Memory Expansion Pak / ハイレゾパック.

The overall design is dark, graphic, and instantly recognisable — a superb display piece from the final major years of the Nintendo 64 era.

Rarity note
This is a Japanese retail shop advance / in-store promotional poster, produced for shop display and not sold to the public. These posters were normally used during the launch campaign and then discarded, making clean surviving examples increasingly difficult to find.

Original Japanese Nintendo shop posters for major N64 titles are highly sought after, and this Majora’s Mask design is especially desirable because of its iconic moon / Skull Kid artwork and its direct connection to the game’s original 2000 Japanese release.

Condition
Near mint condition. An exceptional example, with strong colour, clean paper, sharp printed detail, and outstanding overall display impact.

Please review the photograph carefully, as it shows the exact poster for sale.
