This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1972 for John Huston’s off-beat revisionist Western The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, starring Paul Newman with Victoria Principal, and featuring colorful turns from a stellar ensemble. Written by John Milius, the film mythologizes the self-appointed “law west of the Pecos” with tall-tale humor and sudden bursts of frontier violence.

Design
A striking Japan-only composition built around a massive hangman’s noose that frames the scene: a bearded Newman grips a Winchester in the foreground, while dusty riders charge across the desert at right. Cameo portraits run in a color strip along the lower edge, with decorative roses in the corners and a huge crimson title masthead 「ロイ＝ビーン」 dominating the top.
