Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese B2 movie poster printed in 2003 for the Japanese theatrical release of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (ロード・オブ・ザ・リング/二つの塔), directed by Peter Jackson and based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy novel.

Film background
Released in 2002 (Japan: 2003), The Two Towers is the second chapter of Jackson’s landmark trilogy and one of the defining blockbuster achievements of the modern era. The story deepens into war and moral pressure: Frodo and Sam push toward Mordor with Gollum as their uneasy guide, while Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli defend Rohan as Saruman’s forces close in—building toward the monumental Battle of Helm’s Deep. The film’s scale, visual effects, and performances helped cement The Lord of the Rings as a cultural phenomenon worldwide.

Poster design
This B2 Japanese advance style features a dramatic, sepia-gold character montage against a Middle-earth battlefield haze: Aragorn dominates the foreground, with Gandalf and Frodo above, Arwen poised at centre, and the looming architecture of Sauron’s realm rising at left. Along the right margin, vertical Japanese copy reads: 「新しい出会いと別れ——第一部は序章でしかなかった。」 (“New meetings and partings—the first film was only a prologue.”). The title locks in at the base in metallic gold typography, with a bold seasonal callout 「2003年・春」 (“Spring 2003”) marking the Japan campaign.
