This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1976 for Clint Eastwood’s revisionist Western The Outlaw Josey Wales, directed by and starring Eastwood with Chief Dan George, Sondra Locke, Bill McKinney, and John Vernon. Adapted from Forrest Carter’s novel, the film follows a Missouri farmer turned guerrilla who refuses to surrender after the Civil War, forging a found family on the run. One of Eastwood’s great ’70s achievements, it cemented his stature as a director.

Design
A dramatic, painterly montage against a clear prairie-blue sky: Eastwood’s profile dominates at right, both Colt revolvers drawn; a windswept amber portrait looms at left; and a mid-gallop Josey on horseback charges across the center as riders thunder below—kinetic dust-plume silhouettes echoing the pursuit.
