This is an original Japanese B3 poster issued in Japan for the first domestic theatrical release of James Cameron’s landmark sci-fi action thriller The Terminator (1984)—starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Michael Biehn (with Paul Winfield and Lance Henriksen). 

A genuine defining title of 1980s cinema—part slasher, part techno-noir, part time-travel fatalism—The Terminator launched one of the most important modern action franchises and cemented Schwarzenegger as a global screen icon. 

Poster design
A bold, high-impact Japanese campaign image dominated by Schwarzenegger’s cold, superhuman stare behind black shades, pistol raised—set against a graphic red-and-black “computerised” background that perfectly matches the film’s machine logic. The headline copy screams in Japanese: 「冷酷！／非情！／残虐！／史上最強〈悪〉のヒーロー!!」 (“Cold! / Heartless! / Brutal! / History’s strongest ‘evil’ hero!!”), while the massive metallic title ターミネーター locks the design into that unmistakable mid-80s action aesthetic.

As with many Japanese B3 issues, the reverse is fully printed with Japanese text and stills—programme-style synopsis/cast/features—making this a particularly satisfying piece of original theatrical marketing ephemera, preserved as-used.
