“The Warriors” (ウォリアーズ), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1980, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) D22

Sale price $500.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1980 for the first Japanese theatrical release of The Warriors (1979 U.S.), directed by Walter Hill and distributed domestically by CIC.

Film background
A Coney Island street gang is framed for murder at a city-wide gang summit and must fight its way home through a hostile nighttime New York. With its propulsive direction, synth score by Barry De Vorzon, and stylized borough-by-borough odyssey, the film became a cult classic that shaped late-’70s/early-’80s urban cinema and street aesthetics.

Poster design
The Japanese B2 uses the iconic rain-slicked still of the Warriors marching toward camera—reflections pooling at their feet—beneath a burst headline that boasts 「俺たちが最高!!」 with additional copy about the midnight gathering of New York’s gangs. The jagged red title 「ウォリアーズ」 slashes across the lower field, paired with the hand-script “The Warriors” logo. Rating and CIC配給 credits run along the footer—pure, gritty energy in a classic country sheet.

It is over 45 years old!
