This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed 1975 for Ralph Nelson’s apartheid-era chase thriller The Wilby Conspiracy (1975), starring Sidney Poitier and Michael Caine, with Nicol Williamson. A political prisoner and a cynical engineer are thrown together and pursued across South Africa after exposing a web of corruption.
Design
High-energy, news-headline montage: a camo helicopter skims the frame with fugitives clinging to the skids; a convoy explodes across the bottom band; and a dotted-line map charts the desperate run from Cape Town to Johannesburg. Poitier’s intense close-up anchors the center left, while the bold red katakana masthead 「ケープタウン」—“Cape Town”—powers across the white lower field above the United Artists credit block.
