“The Wild Bunch” (ワイルドバンチ), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1969, Warner Bros.–Seven Arts First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm), Style B O155

Sale price $250.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster (Style B) printed in 1969 for the first domestic theatrical release of The Wild Bunch (ワイルドバンチ), directed by Sam Peckinpah and released in Japan by Warner Bros.–Seven Arts. First-issue Japanese country sheets for Peckinpah’s landmark revisionist western are highly collectible.

Film background
Set on the Texas–Mexico border in 1913, the film follows aging outlaw Pike Bishop (William Holden) and his gang—Dutch (Ernest Borgnine), Lyle & Tector Gorch (Warren Oates, Ben Johnson), and others—as they attempt one last score while pursued by former partner-turned-bounty hunter Deke Thornton (Robert Ryan). Famed for its balletic slow-motion violence, moral ambiguity, and elegiac tone, the picture reshaped the western genre.

Poster design
This Style B sheet pairs two signature images: along the header, the Bunch stride in silhouette across a blue horizon; the lower field erupts in painted action with Borgnine raking a machine gun, Holden and the gang firing in a cross-flurry, and bridge explosions at right. Credits sit above the composition, while the monumental blocky orange logotype 「ワイルドバンチ」 anchors the base. Distributor marks and the Eirin rating are printed along the footer—classic hallmarks of an authentic first-release sheet with tremendous wall presence.
