An original Japanese double-sided B1 theatrical roadshow poster for Hayao Miyazaki’s 2013 Studio Ghibli feature The Wind Rises / 風立ちぬ.
Produced for the film’s original Japanese cinema release, the design features Jiro Horikoshi looking towards the sky as an aircraft passes in front of a large bank of clouds. The restrained composition, vivid blue sky and prominent brush-script lettering reflect the film’s themes of aviation, ambition and memory.
The lower section carries the original Japanese title 風立ちぬ, together with the nationwide theatrical release date of 20 July 2013. The vertical text reads:

Design Notes
The poster places Jiro Horikoshi prominently in the lower half of the composition, dressed in a pale suit, tie, glasses and hat. Above him, an aircraft crosses a bright blue sky against a large formation of white clouds.
The black calligraphy in the upper section provides a strong visual contrast with the sky, while the large pink title 風立ちぬ anchors the lower portion of the design. The original Japanese production credits and theatrical release information are printed along the bottom border.
At full B1 size, the clean vertical composition and broad areas of blue and white give the poster strong visual presence without appearing overly busy.
Double-Sided Light-Box Format
The poster is double-sided, with the artwork printed in mirror image on the reverse. This format was intended for illuminated cinema light-box display, helping the colours and darker printed areas retain their depth when lit from behind.

Very Good+ to Excellent condition.
The poster remains complete and presents very well overall, with strong colour, clear printing and good image definition. The blue sky, cloud detail, character artwork and pink title remain bright and visually effective.
There are light surface scuffs, rub marks and shallow handling creases, most noticeably across the upper blue section of the poster. Some of these marks are visible around and above the black calligraphy and are more apparent when the surface is viewed under direct or angled light. Further faint handling marks and minor surface impressions can be seen in parts of the clouds, clothing and lower image.
There is also minor wear consistent with careful handling and display, including occasional light edge and corner wear. No major tears or significant areas of paper loss.
The visible surface marks prevent the poster from being described as Excellent +, but they do not substantially detract from its overall appearance. It remains a clean, attractive and highly displayable example in Very Good+ to Excellent condition.
