“Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold” (ダイナマイト諜報機関/クレオパトラカジノ征服), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1975, Tamara Dobson / Stella Stevens, B2 Size (c. 51 × 73 cm) — T58

Sale price $165.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for the 1975 first Japanese release of Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold. Its dramatic photographic montage places Tamara Dobson at the centre of a colourful campaign combining glamorous fashion, espionage and martial arts action.

Directed by Chuck Bail, this sequel to Cleopatra Jones was a Warner Bros.–Shaw Brothers co-production, bringing the American action heroine into a Hong Kong setting. Dobson returns as government agent Cleopatra Jones, searching for two missing fellow agents and confronting a narcotics operation controlled by the formidable Dragon Lady, played by Stella Stevens. Tanny, also known as Tien Ni, plays her resourceful local ally, Mi Ling.

The design is dominated by a full-length photographic cutout of Dobson, holding a handgun and wearing a flowing pink ensemble with white trim, an ornate black-and-gold bodice and a patterned headscarf. Her commanding stance and elaborate costume capture the combination of confidence, style and physical action that defines the character.

Behind her, sharp white diagonal borders divide a series of large film stills. A casino encounter occupies the upper left, while a tense confrontation fills the upper centre. Other panels show Cleopatra delivering a high kick, gunfire from a vehicle, and a motorcycle-and-sidecar sequence. These angled photographs give the composition a lively rhythm while keeping its star firmly in the foreground.

The oversized red Japanese title 「クレオパトラカジノ征服」 stretches across the bottom, accompanied by the blue-boxed wording 「ダイナマイト諜報機関」, meaning “Dynamite Intelligence Agency.” The illustrated English title logo, Technicolor / Panavision lettering and Warner Bros. credits appear at the lower right.

The blue vertical promotional copy reads:

「危機また危機を突破して 暴れまくる188センチ―― ダイナミックなこのボディ!」
“Breaking through crisis after crisis—188 centimetres running wild! What a dynamic figure!”

The combination of bold colour, fashionable costumes and energetic action photography makes this a distinctive example for collectors of Tamara Dobson, 1970s blaxploitation cinema, Shaw Brothers and Japanese film poster design.
