"Thunderbirds Are Go" (サンダーバード), Original Japanese Theatrical Movie Poster 1966, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) — With pen redaction O483

This is an original Japanese B2 poster for Gerry & Sylvia Anderson’s Supermarionation feature Thunderbirds Are Go (Japanese release late 1966. A domestic theatrical sheet printed in テクニカラー／テクニスコープ (Technicolor/Techniscope) is noted on the artwork.

Design
Maximum rescue spectacle: the Zero-X craft detonates across a crimson sky while two towering kaijū fire energy beams in the foreground—an exuberant Japanese-market embellishment to the film’s Mars jeopardy. Down the left margin, portrait-and-vehicle panels introduce the International Rescue lineup.

A battery of explosions, missiles, and the blue FAB-1–style ground unit streak across the lower band. The gigantic brush title サンダーバード slams along the base, with the English mark THUNDERBIRDS are GO tucked at lower right.

Cult status / film notes
The Andersons’ feature debut for the series remains a cult favorite in Japan, where Thunderbirds commanded TV ratings and a robust merchandising wave. Japanese one-sheets from the first run—especially with the full battle painting and character strip—are prized for their kinetic layouts and Showa-era color.

Condition
Very Good overall with one notable quirk: there is hand-applied pen/marker redaction (black/purple) covering a short line of printed text on the lower left of the image area (see close-up), and a corresponding small pen mark on the reverse lower right. Honest theatrical handling is present—light edge wear, tiny pinholes, but color remains vivid and the sheet displays strongly. Please review all photos; they show the exact poster for sale.
