This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in spring 1995 for Toei Anime Fair ’95, the triple-bill program pairing:
-
Dragon Ball Z: Revival Fusion!! Goku & Vegeta(ドラゴンボールZ 復活のフュージョン!!悟空とベジータ, a.k.a. Fusion Reborn)
-
Slam Dunk: Shōhoku Saidai no Kiki! Moero Sakuragi Hanamichi(湘北最大の危機!燃えろ桜木花道)
-
Marmalade Boy(ママレード・ボーイ)
A quintessential mid-’90s Toei one-sheet that united three of the decade’s defining manga/anime franchises on a single theatrical campaign.
Design
High-energy split layout bursting with color: on the left, Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta power up against Janemba above the bold DRAGON BALL Z logo; to the right, the SLAM DUNK crew (Sakuragi, Rukawa, et al.) dominate with kinetic hoops poses and a looming close-up; along the bottom, a pink cartouche introduces the romantic duo from Marmalade Boy. Banner copy across the top trumpets “息もつけない面白さ、超パワフル・キュートな3本立!!” (“Breathless excitement—three super-powerful, super-cute features!!”). Pure 1995 multiplex hype.
