"Trainspotting", Original First-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1996, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) E156
This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1996 for the first theatrical run of Trainspotting in Japan.
Danny Boyle’s cult-classic adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s novel burst onto the ’90s indie scene with kinetic style and a Brit-pop soundtrack. This Japanese sheet features Ewan McGregor’s Renton drenched in sweat and defiantly self-hugging, flanked by hexagonal cameos of Begbie, Diane, Sick Boy and Spud. The vertical red tagline urges, “Choose your future.” Minimalist black-and-white photography, razor-thin red border and a bold vermilion title block echo the UK campaign while giving it a distinct Japanese graphic punch.
It is over 28 years old!
