“Two or Three Things I Know About Her” (彼女について私が知っている二、三の事柄), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1983, Re-Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O700
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1983 for the re-release of Jean-Luc Godard’s Two or Three Things I Know About Her (彼女について私が知っている二、三の事柄)—a landmark Nouvelle Vague / Godard “essay film” that blends intimate drama with sharp social observation.
Film background
Originally released in 1967, the film centres on Juliette (Marina Vlady), a young mother living in the newly built Paris suburbs as Godard dissects modern urban life: consumerism, language, advertising, class, and the uneasy shine of postwar prosperity. It’s one of his most emblematic mid-career works—part narrative, part philosophical collage—where everyday gestures become political, and the city itself becomes the subject.
Poster design
A striking, saturated red design with a magazine-collage sensibility: the central still of Vlady is framed by a torn-paper motif, with bold vertical Japanese title typography along the right edge and the large “2 ou 3” title block anchoring the lower half. The smaller photo panels (camera, faces, domestic vignettes) reinforce Godard’s themes of image-making and modern life—graphic, cinematic, and unmistakably late-Shōwa in impact.
