"Ultraman Taro" (ウルトラマンタロウ), Original Release Japanese Poster 1974, Speed Size (26 × 75 cm) H94 B
This is an original Japanese “speed”‑size theatrical poster produced for the mid‑1970s cinema run of Ultraman Taro: Burn! The Six Ultra Brothers (燃えろ!ウルトラ6兄弟), a short theatrical feature spun off from Tsuburaya Productions’ 1973–74 TV series Ultraman Taro. The film brings together Taro and the Ultra Brothers in a battle against alien monsters threatening Earth, part of the height of the Shōwa‑era Ultraman boom.
Design
Speed posters were printed in a tall, narrow format for display in theatre lobbies and ticket halls, and far fewer were produced than the standard B2 size. This design stacks bold lemon‑yellow title typography against a saturated blue field, with copy running vertically down the right. The lower section shows Taro joining the other Ultra Brothers in a dramatic team huddle on a lunar landscape, capturing the series’ mix of space‑age fantasy and heroic tokusatsu action. It’s a striking piece of 1970s Japanese graphic design and a perfect complement to any Ultraman or Showa‑era sci‑fi collection.
